History

Cocoa is made from the beans of the cacao tree. This tree comes from the foothills of the Andes Mountain. Later it was brought to Central America by the ancient Mayas. Cacao beans processed from chocolate.

  • Product Description

Cocoa Absolute Oil is derived from the seeds of Cocoa by solvent extraction method. The botanical name Theobroma means "food of the gods" in Aztec.  Cocoa is the dried and fully fermented fatty seeds of cacao tree. The seeds contain a lot of fat, and are used to produce cocoa butter. It is a small evergreen tree which grows up to the height of 4-8m. Cocoa belongs to the genus Theobroma classified under the family of Malvaceae. It is one of the 22 species of Theobroma. Leaves of this plant are alternate, entire, unlobed 10–40 cm long and 5–20 cm broad. The flowers of cocoa are produced in clusters directly on the trunk that is known as cauliflory. The flowers are small in size i.e. 1–2 cm in diameter with pink calyx. Chemical constituents of the cocoa Absolute Oil are Arginine, Phenylethylamine, Theobromine, Tryptophan, Anandimide.

It is used extensively in the formulation of cakes, brownies, creams, drinks, toppings and other pastries. 

 

It smells like a chocolate and used in combination with vanilla to make white chocolate flavored cakes. 

 

The powder of cocoa is effective in supplying anti-oxidants, lowering blood pressure, managing blood sugar and supplying nutrients and minerals to the body. 

 

It is also ideal for products such as cosmetics and soap.
