Aniseed oil is basically extracted from the Pimpinella anisum by the steam distillation method. This plant actually belongs to the Apiaceae family which is native to the eastern Mediterranean region and Southwest Asia. ‘Anise’ is the other name of aniseed. It is an annual herb which grows about 2 feet in height and has got very delicate leaves. It also has beautiful small white flowers with brown and grayish seeds. This oil is known to have many medicinal and therapeutic properties and is widely used across the world for these uses.

  • Uses

Indigestion: - Aniseed oil is very helpful for improving the digestive system. You can put few drops of this oil in your warm bathing water and soak yourself in it for few minutes. Or else, you can put few drops of it on a piece of cloth and place it on your stomach. This oil works best for an upset stomach. This method is basically done for the children who are not ready to take any medicines.
Hiccups: - If you are having those incessant hiccups then make use of aniseed oil. It will give you an instant relief and will stop your hiccups. You can place a few drops of this oil on a cotton ball and inhale it with the opened mouth. It will soothe and relax the muscles which are responsible for hiccups.
Head lice: - It is used to treat the problem of head lice. To get rid of this problem, just dilute this oil with almond oil and give a gentle massage to your scalp. It will surely give an instant relief. Many people even add ylang ylang oil to this mixture for more effective results.
